These terms and conditions apply to all hair and makeup services provided by Mellissa Johnston Makeup. ABN: 83 839 077 286. Upon making a booking with Mellissa you agree to the following terms & conditions.

Bookings:

Every appointment requires a non-refundable deposit.

Bookings can only be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance, and a maximum of 12 months in advance. Please allow 1 hour for makeup application and 2.5 hours for hair and makeup application bookings. These appointment times are recommended for all special occasions.

Refreshments and a light snack would be appreciated if the booking is over 4 hours or more.

Bookings are held either at Mellissa's home studio in Brighton or travel is available.

Deposits:

All hair and makeup services provided by Mellissa require a non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment. Once booked, deposit details will be forwarded to your chosen email. Payment must be paid no later than 7 days after your initial enquiry. If payment of the deposit is not paid within 7 days, your date will be released and available for booking by other clients.

Deposits are NON-refundable & NON-transferrable.

Payments:

Once the deposit has been transferred to the nominated account, an email with the proof of transaction is required to be sent to mellissajohnstonmua@hotmail.com then to be confirmed once recieved. If an email is not sent with the screenshot of your payment receipt provided to you by your bank, your appointment may not be held. The outstanding amount shall be paid in cash or bank transfer on the day of your event.

Wedding payments - Please pay your remaining payment 2 weeks before your wedding date.

Cancellations:

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. However, failing to cancel your appointment without sufficient notice means we lose the chance to fill that appointment slot.

• To cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment with Mellissa.
• Cancellations within the 48-hour window will result in forfeiting the non-refundable deposit or can be used as credit for another service by Mellissa at a later date.
• Cancellations made within 24 hours prior to the appointment will incur a 50% charge of the remaining service fee.
• Clients who do not show up or cancel on the day of the appointment will be charged the full remaining service fee.
• If you arrive late and the full service cannot be provided, you will still be required to pay the full remaining service fee.

Allergies/ Health/ Sensitivities:

Clients are required to inform Mellissa about any health/skin conditions, sensitivities, illnesses, or allergies before their appointments. All brushes, tools, and makeup products undergo sanitation between each makeup application. Any allergies or skin conditions must be disclosed by the client to the Makeup Artist before application. If necessary, a makeup sample test may be conducted on the skin to check for reactions. The client agrees to release Mellissa from liability for any skin issues caused by allergic reactions.

Tattoos and Scars:

Coverage of tattoos and scars will incur additional fee's, please notify Mellissa when booking of anyone wanting coverage on the day of the event/shoot.

Damages:

Damages, theft or contamination to Mellissa's property caused by any person, (including children), require on the spot compensation of equipment plus shipping costs of that equipment. This applies to damaged or contaminated items. As children cannot compensate, their responsible adult, (or The Client), will be held responsible for on the spot compensation.

Children:

Children in attendance of the booking are to be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Children are not to be in the service area at any time unless they are having a service. This is for their own safety; as myself and other artists/stylists use hot styling tools, operate electrical equipment and have very heavy equipment which can tip if not used correctly. Mellissa accepts no liability from any claims arising from any children’s injury while in the service area.

Use of images:

Mellissa may use on her website and social media any advertising media that deems appropriate that is capture by the Artist. The Client also agrees to release the name and contact information of professional photographers and/or videographers used for recording any event for which the Artist has been contracted to provide services for.

Travel and Parking:

Please advise Mellissa of your location for an accurate quote. Should your preparation location be changed after your quote is supplied, further travel charges may apply, it is your responsibility to advise Mellissa of any changes.

Parking is required to be arranged by the client and supplied on the day. Where parking is not provided on-site, the client agrees to meet charges and extra fee's incurred on the day to Mellissa, please note parking may be required for more than one stylist, please check with your getting-ready location prior to your booking date to ensure parking is available.

Early call out Fees:

Early call out fees apply for services required to start prior to 6am.

Should your time requirements change, or additional services be required which results in Mellissa having to start earlier then an early fee will be added to your invoice.

COVID-19:

Should you have any COVID-19 symptoms I please ask that you contact me immediately so that we can discuss your booking.

In the event that I contract COVID-19 and are unable to complete your booking personally, I will organize another artist to look after you on your special day.

Note:

In the extremely unlikely event that Mellissa should be unable to fulfil your booking, Mellissa will refer or transfer your booking to another reputable and competent artist.
